To measure the correct quantity of the extinguishing product required and the type of possible applications it will be necessary to calculate the geometric characteristics of the areas that will be protected, as well as, the level of ventilation and the type of combustible materials present.

Formula to calculate the quantity of product:

The dimensioning of the extinguishing product’s mass used to extinguish a fire, and the number of dispensers will be calculated in the following way:

a) M = C x V

Where:

M = The mass of the extinguishing agent from which aerosol is generated in order to extinguish the fire in a given volume (in grams)

C = Concentration of the project, in in grams per cubic meter (m3) as specified for each aerosol generator (data given by the manufacturer)

V = Gross volume of the closed area with specified dimensions and height limits, in cubic meters.
